US residential solar and energy storage installer Sunrun, energy management platform Renew Home, and Tesla have announced an agreement to deliver more than 16GW of flexible energy capacity to US hyperscalers and utilities.
RWE Renewables Australia has officially opened the 50MW/400MWh Limondale battery energy storage system (BESS) near Balranald in south-west New South Wales.
TagEnergy has commissioned a 240MW/480MWh project in France while Iberdrola has done the same with a 58MW/120MWh system in Spain, the two largest projects in each country. Meanwhile Engie, ACL Energy and Chint Solar Europe have moved to construction on projects in Belgium, Italy and Germany.
There’s been progress on several large-scale BESS projects in the UK, with Matrix Renewables securing financing for its Eccles project and BW ESS enlisting EDF to optimise its Hams Hall one; plus smaller announcements.
The Puerto Rico Energy Bureau (PREB) has approved a motion from Tesla, residential solar and battery installer Sunrun, and residential solar installer SunStrong Management to auto-enroll participants in an emergency capacity resource programme.
