Hitachi Energy has entered a 20-year service agreement with Australian developer Akaysha Energy to support the 155MW/298MWh Ulinda Park battery energy storage system (BESS) in Queensland’s Western Downs region.

Developer Akaysha Energy has received federal environmental clearance for its 400MW/1,600MWh Glenrowan battery energy storage system (BESS) in Victoria, with the project deemed “not a controlled action” under Australia’s Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act.

BESS developer Akaysha Energy has seen its 300MWh Ulinda BESS in Queensland, Australia, is set to enter the commissioning phase.

Akaysha Energy has penned an offtake agreement with commodities trader Guvnor Group for its 205MW/410MWh Brendale BESS in Queensland.
