French renewable energy company Voltalia has completed the expansion of a renewable energy plant in French Guiana, adding a battery energy storage system (BESS) of 10.6MWh.
The French Energy Regulation Commission (CRE) has selected a pair of battery storage projects by Voltalia that will benefit the function of the Guianese electrical network.
A hydrogen ‘power station’ which includes 15MWh of batteries as part of a total 140MWh of renewable energy-charged energy storage, will be built on French Guiana by Hydrogène de France (HDF Energy).
