Canadian Solar has reiterated guidance that it expects to ship between 1.8GWh and 2GWh of BESS equipment during 2023.

Canadian Solar shipped just under 900MWh of battery storage in 2021 but expects to double that figure this year. 

Microinverter supplier Enphase Energy posted strong Q4 2021 results last week that saw strong revenue growth, following high demand for its IQ microinverters and a 53% jump in orders of its IQ batteries compared with Q3 2021, despite supply chain constraints.

Canadian Solar has seen a “surge in demand for battery storage capacity,” CEO Dr Shawn Qu said, as the vertically-integrated solar PV company reported its latest quarterly financial results. 

Eos Energy Enterprises has a total order backlog for its zinc battery-based energy storage of 389MWh, worth nearly US$100 million, but expects to only be able to recognise US$5 million in revenues for 2021. 

Solar module manufacturer and developer Canadian Solar has launched a US$150 million fundraise to support its growth strategy and build out a substantial battery energy storage business.

SolarEdge is targeting a world where the “majority of solar systems will include storage”, according to CEO Guy Sella, as the company announced record revenues and shipments in the third quarter of 2018.
