NEC and developer Kearsage Energy have completed work on a 4.5MW solar PV array, combined with a 1.6MW / 2.8MWh AC-coupled battery energy storage system in Amesbury, Massachusetts.
NEC has now executed five grid-scale battery energy storage projects in China and been awarded another, winning deals in spite of what a company representative described as “aggressive” price competition from domestic vendors.
Automotive Energy Supply Corporation (AESC) and NEC Energy Devices, the Nissan Motor Co’s electric battery business jointly operated with NEC Corporation, and NEC Corporation’s own lithium-ion battery business respectively, have been sold to China’s Envision.
