Rolls-Royce and Fluence have secured BESS orders in Latvia and Poland, respectively, while CATL has partnered with Merus Power for 3GWh of deployments across Northern Europe.

Large-scale BESS projects have been progressed to construction, financing or operations across the EU this week, by project owners, investors and EPC firms re:cap, LONGi, Teos, Flower, Goldbeck Solar, SPP and Tavion.

TotalEnergies is pushing ahead with a co-located battery storage and gigawatt-scale wind project in Kazakhstan, Central Asia.  

Czech investment group Wood & Company (Wood & Co) has hired construction and optimisation partners for large-scale battery storage projects in Finland and Sweden.

Terna, the transmission system operator (TSO) of Italy, has approved the grid connection for a 500MW/3GWh BESS project. Meanwhile several smaller projects have progressed across the rest of Europe.

Another busy week of BESS news from across Europe, with investors and owner-operators ABO, Field, Aspiravi, Prime Capital, Latvenergo, Sonnedix and Amarenco progressing large-scale projects across Europe.

Allianz GI, Luxcara and Return have acquired BESS projects and portfolios in Germany, Finland and Spain; Low Carbon, OX2, Cero Generation and Revera have taken FIDs on projects in Poland, Finland and the UK; and NHOA Energy has received a 600MWh order in Italy. All in all, the projects total at least 3.7GWh of capacity.

Another roundup of European BESS news, but this time around portfolios, partnerships, investments, financing, optimisation and tolling in France, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Finland and Romania. Notable highlights are Grenergy’s 10-year BESS toll in Spain and Ingrid Capacity entering the French market.

A busy week of large-scale BESS projects news from the Eastern side of Europe, with projects reaching commissioning, final investment decision, technology procurement and acquisition, led by KNESS’ 2GWh partnership with Hithium in Ukraine.

Another roundup of European grid-scale BESS project news, led by MORE and Zenobe putting Greece and UK projects into operation, and major project financings/construction starts by Acacia in France, Greenvolt in Hungary and Eco Stor in Germany.
