Spanish and Portuguese utility Endesa, part of Enel, has provisionally won 953MW of connection rights to build renewable energy resources and battery storage in Andorra, possibly rising to 1,200MW.
Endesa Generación Portugal, part of Enel, has been award the connection rights to develop a renewable energy project combining solar, wind, green hydrogen and a 168.6MW battery energy storage system (BESS) to replace the country’s last coal station.
Plans for what is being billed as “Europe’s largest solar plant” have been put forward in Spain as the UN climate negotiations came to a close in Madrid.
