Global battery energy storage system (BESS) integrator Powin has sold a minority stake to Samsung Venture Investment Corporation.

California investor-owned utility San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) has selected Powin Energy as system provider for a 6.5MW / 26MWh battery energy storage project.

Powin Energy will supply a 30kW/40kWh battery system for the University of Washington’s Clean Energy Institute.
