We hear from utility Eesti Energia about its 25MW/50MWh BESS project in Estonia, including what it hopes to achieve with the project and why it needed a second procurement to launch the project.

LG Energy Solution saw its revenues fall 30% in the second quarter of the year amidst a global EV market slowdown, and the company says its ESS segment could help offset this.

Being able to create a single contract for project delivery is perhaps the biggest advantage of vertically integrating battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing with system integration, according to the CEO of LG Energy Solution (LG ES) Vertech.

LG Energy Solution has said it will take a strong stance against those copying its technology following what it says is a surge in battery patent infringements, including in the ESS market.

Battery manufacturer LG Energy Solution has started construction on its gigafactory in Arizona, US, which will have 17GWh of production dedicated to the energy storage system (ESS) market.

The owner of a battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Illinois, US, is seeking at least US$10 million in damages from LG Energy Solution for supplying allegedly defective batteries, a court document shows.

Global demand for batteries for energy storage system (ESS) applications will grow 30% during this year, with the US leading the charge, LG Energy Solution has predicted.

Eesti Energi has completed the procurement for its 26.5MW/51MWh BESS, the first of that scale in Estonia, with LG Energy Solution among the successful parties.

The new system integrator arm of South Korean battery and storage system manufacturer LG Energy Solution has already racked up 10GWh of project orders in the US.

Advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell design and localising production are among chief strategies for differentiation in the US for LG Energy Solution, according to the company’s ESS division head.
