Battery energy storage systems (BESS) have emerged as the defining feature of Australia’s Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) Tender 7, with 2GW/7.9GWh of co-located energy storage successful.

The Australian government has announced the results of Capacity Investment Scheme Tenders 5 and 6 for WA, awarding contracts to 10 projects.

Australia’s Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) has awarded 4.13GW/15.37GWh of battery storage capacity in its third tender round, exceeding initial targets and attracting 135GWh of bids.
