Nevada utility NV Energy has secured approval from the state’s public utility commission for a solar-plus-storage push that could see 1,190MW of PV capacity installed in southern Nevada by January 2024 alongside 590MW of energy storage across three big projects.
Georgia Power is set to boost its state’s battery energy storage sector, with the company’s plan to own and operate 80MW of battery energy storage unanimously approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC).
Three more vast projects pairing battery energy storage with utility-scale renewable energy installations are in the pipeline in New South Wales, Australia, through developer CWP Renewables.
