The first quarter of 2024 saw declines in US utility-scale energy storage deployments and revenues for US-based or focused system integrators, but the long-term pipeline and outlook remains healthy.
The amount of large-scale battery energy storage systems completed in the US as of Q3 2023 already exceeds the whole of 2022, American Clean Power said.
Utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) installations in the US grew 196% to 2.6GW in 2021 but overall clean power installations fell 3%, according to the latest annual figures from the trade body American Clean Power Association (ACP).
