Tech giant Amazon has signed a new power purchase agreement (PPA) to procure energy from IPP European Energy’s 220MWh Winton North solar-plus-storage project in northeast Victoria, Australia.
A subsidiary of utility Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) has struck a deal with Amazon to construct 3GW of new dispatchable capacity, with the aim of serving the tech company’s planned data center expansion.
Power company AES Corporation has completed construction of the 1,000MW Bellefield 1 project in Kern County, California. The project includes 500MW of solar and 500MW/2,000MWh of battery storage.
Power from new co-located renewable energy and battery projects in California will be bought by Amazon and a number of Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs).
