On May 20, JA Solar announced the appointment of Wang Junsheng as president of its energy storage subsidiary, with the appointment taking immediate effect.

A senior engineer by profession, Wang Junsheng holds academic credentials from North China Electric Power University and Tsinghua University. He boasts 18 years of in-depth experience spanning energy, power and new energy sectors.
Before joining JA Solar, Wang Junsheng held senior management roles at major domestic and international energy companies, where he oversaw strategic planning, market operations, product and capacity planning, and flagship project delivery. He has led a number of benchmark energy storage projects throughout his career.
Public records show that Wang previously served as deputy general manager and VP of lithium-ion OEM Svolt Energy, as well as general manager of diesel genset OEM Siwei Energy, among other roles.
On May 16, JA Solar disclosed that its board of directors had received a written resignation letter from Jin Bin, employee director of the company. Citing personal reasons, Jin stepped down as employee director and member of the audit committee. He will leave all positions at the company and its subsidiaries. Jin previously headed JA Solar’s energy storage division.
As a leading global PV manufacturer, JA Solar has lagged slightly behind top peers such as JinkoSolar and Trina Solar in energy storage. The company is now accelerating its PV-storage integration and global expansion to turn storage into a key new growth driver.
Longi, another solar PV giant, entered the energy storage industry recently with the acquisition of system integrator PotisEdge in November last year.
