Kehua has announced that a 60 MW/120 MWh BESS is now operational alongside a 60.2 MW solar PV park in Teius, Romania. By combining solar generation with battery storage, the project enhances renewable energy integration and improves power system flexibility.
Kehua Digital Energy supplied six sets of 10 MW PCS MV SKID solutions, providing power conversion and medium-voltage integration capabilities to support the deployment of the utility-scale energy storage system.
The successful commissioning marks another milestone in Romania’s evolving energy storage market and highlights the growing role of BESS in maximizing renewable energy utilization and enhancing grid flexibility. It also adds to Kehua’s expanding portfolio of energy storage projects across CEE, where the company continues to strengthen its market presence and regional service capabilities.
For utility-scale battery energy storage projects, grid connection involves more than installing equipment. PCS, battery management systems (BMS) and energy management systems (EMS) must work together effectively, while communication interfaces and system coordination need to be verified before the system can operate as intended.
For the TeiuÈ™ project, Kehua drew on its extensive experience of working with different battery manufacturers to complete relevant testing in China before shipping equipment, such preparation helping to address integration and communication requirements ahead of on-site commissioning, reducing the amount of testing work to be carried out locally.
The six sets of the company’s 10 MW PCS MV SKID solutions provided power conversion and medium-voltage integration capabilities for the battery energy storage system.
PCS technology is a key component of utility-scale BESS installations. It enables bidirectional power conversion between the battery system and the grid during charging and discharging, helping stored energy to be managed and delivered according to system requirements. Integrated PCS MV SKID solutions combine power conversion and medium-voltage equipment to support system integration and project deployment.

As renewable energy deployment accelerates across Central and Eastern Europe, energy storage is playing an increasingly important role in improving power system flexibility, facilitating renewable integration and strengthening energy system resilience.
Kehua has established a significant presence in the region’s energy storage market, with orders covering over 100 projects and a total order volume exceeding 5 GW across CEE. These projects span a range of applications, including renewable energy integration, standalone battery storage and grid-side energy storage, reflecting the company’s experience across diverse project requirements.
In Romania, Kehua continues to support utility-scale energy storage projects with its PCS and integrated solutions and, in Bulgaria, the company has also participated in multiple large-scale storage projects, further building its experience in the deployment of utility-scale BESS solutions.
Beyond its project portfolio, Kehua is strengthening its regional service capabilities, with Poland acting as a service hub for the European market. Its localized service network provides 7×24 technical support, helping customers address technical requirements, on-site assistance, spare parts coordination and ongoing operational needs throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful commissioning of the Teiuș project demonstrates the value of combining solar generation with battery storage to improve renewable energy utilization and provide greater flexibility to the electricity system, also adding another practical example of Kehua Digital Energy’s growing portfolio of energy storage projects in Europe.
