Jinko ESS deploys 90 SunGiga 261kWh systems in Binzhou, China

Jinko ESS has announced the deployment of 90 SunGiga 261kWh C&I energy storage systems in Binzhou, China’s Shandong Province. With a total capacity of 23.49MWh, the project integrates energy storage with on-site solar PV generation, electricity loads and EV charging facilities to establish an integrated “source-grid-load-storage” solution. Under centralized dispatch by a station-level Energy Management System (EMS), the storage systems are further connected to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform to participate in demand response and power spot market trading, exploring a new pathway for C&I energy storage to evolve from standalone energy cost optimization toward diversified energy value creation.

The deployment of 90 storage systems places higher demands on coordinated dispatch and long-term operational performance. The SunGiga 261kWh features a highly integrated architecture, supporting up to 12 units in parallel, and works with the station-level EMS to enable centralized management and flexible dispatch of multiple storage units, providing a foundation for coordinated source-grid-load-storage operations and participation in diversified energy markets.

As demand response and power market trading require more flexible charging and discharging strategies, the system achieves a maximum PCS conversion efficiency of ≥98.5% and system efficiency of ≥90%, while reducing auxiliary power consumption by 20%, improving overall energy conversion efficiency and minimizing the system’s own energy consumption to support more efficient operation across diversified market applications. For long-term and frequent cycling, the system adopts intelligent liquid-cooling technology to maintain a cell temperature difference within 2℃, while its system design life of up to 15 years provides further support for stable, long-term operation.
