Hoymiles has deployed more than 400 MWh of mobile energy storage solutions across multiple oilfield projects in China, delivering reliable power to remote drilling and electric fracturing operations where grid access is limited.
Drilling rigs and electric fracturing equipment require substantial power, while grid connections may be unavailable or insufficient. Fixed grid connections can be difficult to extend to remote sites, and diesel generators involve fuel transportation and regular maintenance.
Hoymiles addresses these challenges with an integrated mobile energy storage solution combining mobile storage vehicles, charging cabins and discharging cabins. Charging cabins connect to a local 10 kV grid to charge battery units, which are then transported to the wellsite. Discharging cabins convert DC power into AC electricity to supply drilling and fracturing equipment.
The solution uses multiple power conversion systems (PCS) in parallel, supported by a hot-standby architecture. When a battery cabin runs low, a standby power path takes over, allowing replacement with minimal disruption. Multiple discharging cabins can be connected in parallel to expand capacity.
The system coordinates battery cabins, transport vehicles, power conversion, fire safety and energy management. Its modular design enables flexible deployment, while its robust construction withstands dust, vibration and temperature extremes in remote oilfield environments.
By combining centralized charging, mobile battery transport and on-site power conversion, Hoymiles provides a flexible alternative to conventional power supply for remote and mobile oilfield operations.
