Energy-Storage.News joins prestigious Solar Power Portal Awards 2018

Entries have opened for the Solar Power Portal Awards 2018, with Energy-Storage.News proud to partner the event for its rebranded sixth edition.

Hosted annually by our UK sister site Solar Power Portal, the ceremony is a particular highlight of the UK renewable energy industry calendar and our publisher and event organiser Solar Media has decided to explicitly recognise the thriving battery storage market, both in Britain and internationally.

Two new, dedicated energy storage award categories have been added to the line-up this year, which promises a celebrity host, dinner and entertainment, giving the fast-moving industry a rare moment of reflection in which to celebrate the successes of the year gone by.

Eligibility criteria for each of the awards can be found on our dedicated awards site.

The ceremony will be held once again at the Hilton Metropole NEC, coinciding with Solar Media’s Solar & Storage Live exhibition. The event will take place on the evening of Wednesday 17 October 2018.

Details regarding this year’s judging panel and the host for the evening are to be released in the coming weeks.

Liam Stoker, UK editor at Solar Media, said: “It made perfect sense to bring Energy-Storage.News into the mix and we hope it reflects the growing role battery storage is playing in the power sector, as best reflected by the success of last year’s Solar & Storage Live show.

“The 2017 awards recognised some truly brilliant projects. Last year we set a new record for nominations and we fully expect to do the same again.”

The nominations process

The nominations process is simple and straightforward. Details on how to enter this year’s awards can be found on the awards page or by clicking straight through to the nominations portal here.

After creating a ‘new user’ account, you will be prompted to select which categories you wish to enter and the details needed to complete each entry. There is no limit to the number of categories you can enter, however each submission will be judged against strict eligibility criteria.

Nominations will close at midnight on 31 May 2018, followed by a judging process which will take place throughout June.

Please note that this year we will not be accepting nominations for the Outstanding Achievement award. For 2018 this award will be discussed with the judging panel exclusively.

Shortlisted entries will be notified in mid-July prior to publication on Solar Power Portal, with the winners announced on the evening of the ceremony.
