Energy-Storage.news is proud to present our sponsored webinar with consultancy Clean Energy Associates (CEA), in which executives discussed how to approach the constantly evolving question of BESS procurement.

The dynamics which determine the pricing, competition and supply chain for batteries and battery energy storage system (BESS) technologies are complex and ever-changing, and the past 12 months has perhaps been the most frenzied yet. That makes it a great time to hear from CEA on how to approach the topic of procuring BESS today.

The consultancy’s market intelligence consultant Aaron Marks kicked off the webinar by providing an overview of the US’ imports of BESS and batteries over the last few years, including the impact of recent tariff increases on products – and therefore prices – from China and how BESS and battery manufacturing capacities are set to grow in the US and elsewhere.

Associate director Jeff Zwijack followed with the crux of the webinar, including how to approach formulating a request for proposals (RFP), how to consider incoming bids, contract reviews and negotiations, and factory quality assurance (FCA) tests. The webinar then moved to a lively audience Q&A.
