Two clean energy projects aimed at replacing a retiring Nevada coal power plant look set to go ahead, with their sale to utility NV Energy been given final approval from regulators.

FlexGen Power Systems will provide 2.1GWh of battery storage solutions to a project in California which exemplifies the state’s “leadership” in the transition to a modern, cleaner grid, the company’s CEO has said. 

A 25MW four-hour (100MWh) battery storage project has been connected to the grid by Arizona utility company Salt River Project (SRP).
