FREYR Battery and Nidec intend to form a JV for the manufacture of battery storage modules and packs.

Nidec ASI, the Italy-based industrial solutions division of Japanese conglomerate Nidec Group, will provide EPC services for a 50MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Northern Ireland.

Nidec ASI has been announced as a supplier to energy storage start-up Energy Vault, providing motors and inverters to the company.

Nidec ASI has been selected as supplier of batteries to a 49MW energy storage project in the UK by EDF, which will help balance the grid and generate revenues until at least 2035.
