Investor-owned utility (IOU) Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking regulatory approval of resource adequacy (RA) contracts covering 620MW of BESS capacity across three projects.

Legacy power plant operator ArcLight and its development arm Elevate Renewables will deploy a 15MW/60MWh BESS unit at the Arthur Kill Power Station on Staten Island, New York City.

System integrator Flexgen has partnered with IPP Arclight and its subsidiary Infinigen Renewables to deploy a PV co-located 15MW BESS project in Puerto Rico.

ArcLight views its portfolio of existing thermal power plant assets as “excellent potential locations for battery projects”.
