JinkoSolar has announced that it is to supply 16 sets of its SunTera utility-scale energy storage system batteries, with a total capacity of 80240 kWh, for an ESS project in northern Jiangsu province.
The project will utilize containerized liquid cooled systems, including the 5.015 MWh SunTera G2 ESS (JKE-5015K-2H-LAA). It employs liquid cooling and AI-based smart thermal management to control a between-battery temperature difference of less than 2 degrees Celsius, which results in an industry-high RTE of 94-95%, a 14% prolonged lifecycle, doubled reliability and a 20% reduction in auxiliary power consumption. SunTera’s unique safety advantage is backed by 5 layers of protection at battery, pack, rack, container and system levels, as well as a strengthened heat-resistant material coating applied to avoid potential fire and explosion occurrence or spread.
Supplying this latest project means that Jinko has now secured ESS related contracts in Jiangsu province totalling over 1000 MWh.
