JinkoSolar has announced the delivery of 42MWh of its flagship SunTera liquid cooled energy storage system to Power China’s Xiaoheima PV + storage project in Yunnan, China. The project, for the Sinohydro Bureau 6 company, will be commissioned in 2024.

As a result of patent designed liquid cooling, the temperature differences among cells are controlled within 2.5 degrees Celsius, prolonging the system life cycle and significantly enhancing charge/discharge efficiency by avoiding the ‘barrel effect’ caused by uneven cell temperature.

Combined with a solar system, the highly integrated ESS SunTera can be widely used in multiple applications, including reducing the amount of abandoned photovoltaic power, participating in the peak frequency regulation of the power grid and improving the operation and regulation capability of a PV project.
