Jinko ESS has announced the completion of its first European installation for C&I storage in the Netherlands. The installation of a high-performance BESS at Koelbedrijf Cornelissen, a well known Dutch refrigeration business, has been developed and commissioned by Watts In Store, the project representing a significant step forward in sustainable energy utilization for the refrigeration sector.
Located in Beers, it involves the integration of five advanced SunGiga All in One 215 kWh systems, storing solar energy generated during the day to enable Koelbedrijf Cornelissen to power its cooling systems in the evening. The installation enhances the energy independence of the facility while optimizing the use of renewable resources, reducing reliance on the grid and cutting energy costs.
Jinko head of European ESS Roberto Murgioni commented: “We are delighted to have worked with Watts In Store on this innovative project. Battery energy storage is a crucial component in maximizing the potential of renewable energy, and this installation will help Koelbedrijf Cornelissen to make the most of the solar power it generates.” The project is expected to be a reference for future BESS deployment across Europe, as companies seek to improve energy efficiency and sustainability in their operations.
Watts In Store Manager of Operations, Micha van Son, highlighted the importance of the project for the local energy landscape, adding: “This project showcases how energy storage solutions can be effectively utilized to maximize the potential of solar energy, even for high-energy-demand sectors like refrigeration. Once fully operational, it will help Koelbedrijf Cornelissen to further minimize its carbon footprint and operational costs.’’
