Utility EWEC (Emirates Water and Electricity Company) has invited developers to submit expressions of interest (EOI) for a 400MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project in the UAE.

UAE-based renewable energy company Masdar has expanded the scale of an agreement with the government of Uzbekistan to develop battery energy storage systems (BESS).

The UAE should deploy 300MW/300MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in the next three years, according to one of its main utilities EWEC. 

A 50MW solar PV plant in Togo will be expanded to 70MW capacity, while grid-scale battery storage will also be added at the site.
