South Korean energy company SK E&S is now the new owner of US utility-scale energy storage developer, owner and operator Key Capture Energy. 

Equinor has acquired a 45% stake in UK utility-scale energy storage and stability services developer Noriker Power.

The CEO of Key Capture Energy has said the company will immediately be able to apply lessons learned from a 20MW battery project in New York to its pipeline of much bigger projects in the state to come. 

Broad Reach Power has been valued at over US$600 million as a 50% stake in the US energy storage company changes hands.

Vertically-integrated solar PV company Canadian Solar is co-developing 1.5GW of battery storage projects in the UK, extending a partnership with developer Windel Energy.

Q CELLS has acquired a utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) project under development in Texas, marking the vertically-integrated solar PV and smart energy solutions company’s first standalone BESS project. 

US$219 million of financing has been secured by developer Plus Power for the 185MW / 565MWh Kapolei Energy Storage (KES) project in O’ahu, Hawaii. 

US renewable energy developer Leeward Renewable Energy has entered into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for a solar-plus-storage facility it is preparing to construct in Kern County, California. 

A new 50MW battery storage site in the UK will be another example of how batteries are benefiting the grid and offering returns for investors, the company behind the project has said. 

Canadian Solar has seen a “surge in demand for battery storage capacity,” CEO Dr Shawn Qu said, as the vertically-integrated solar PV company reported its latest quarterly financial results.
