Australia has clawed back AU$1.3 billion (US$940 million) in uncommitted clean energy manufacturing funding, with the Solar Sunshot Program and Battery Breakthrough Initiative among the programmes hit by budget cuts announced this week.

Victorian energy storage designer and manufacturer PowerPlus Energy has secured AU$2.3 million (US$1.65 million) in funding from ARENA.

The Australian government has officially launched the AU$500 million Battery Breakthrough Initiative (BBI).

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) confirmed last week (11 September) that the AUS$523 million Battery Breakthrough Initiative has opened a consultation into the scheme.
