Trina Storage has achieved a global milestone with its Elementa 2 liquid cooling system, becoming the world’s first energy storage product to earn a 20-year full lifecycle Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification from UL Solutions.

The EPD certification, based on the ISO 14025 standard, is based on a rigorous assessment of a product’s environmental impact across its entire lifecycle — from raw material extraction, manufacturing and transportation to operation, maintenance and eventual recycling.

This certification is the first in the energy storage industry to assess environmental impact over a 20-year product lifecycle.

“This achievement validates Trina Storage’s leadership in sustainable innovation and green manufacturing,” commented Wei Deng, the company’s Head of Global Product. “By integrating advanced automated, digital and intelligent production systems, Trina Storage has built smart zero-carbon factories powered by solar-plus-storage solutions. These initiatives have significantly reduced per-unit energy consumption, keeping emissions well below the industry average and enhancing product sustainability across its entire lifecycle.”
