Noon Energy, developer of a novel carbon-oxygen battery for long-duration storage, has raised US$28 million in a Series A funding round.

Corporate funding of energy storage companies exceeded US$26 billion worldwide in 2022, a 55% jump from 2021’s total US$17 billion.

e-Zinc, which claims its zinc metal-based battery technology could provide low-cost, long-duration energy storage has raised US$25 million. 

Aspen Aerogels has raised US$150 million in financing from a Koch family investment firm to help grow its aerogel thermal barrier technology division, including new products which prevent thermal runaway in batteries. 

Thermal storage startup Antora Energy has raised US$50m from a group of investment firms including Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy Ventures to accelerate the development of its heat-based carbon block energy storage system for heavy industry.
