A solar-plus-storage project has been commissioned in Saxony, Germany, the first in the state from the recent ‘innovation tenders’ to do so.

E.ON spinout Uniper Energy Storage has received €2.75 million in EU grant funding towards a project to store hydrogen at scale in a salt cavern in Northern Germany.

A large-scale lead carbon battery energy storage system has gone into operation in Saxony, Germany to help regulate frequency of the grid, the latest of several such projects in the country by consortium Upside Group.
