Ørsted has selected NEC Energy Solutions to provide the battery system for its largest UK energy storage to date, which will see a 20MW battery deployed near Liverpool.

Ørsted, formerly DONG Energy, has confirmed its entry into the UK battery storage market with a new 20MW project near Liverpool.

The CEO of Orsted, the world’s largest offshore wind developer, has said that his company is working to establish “a scalable commercial model” for solar PV and energy storage, viewing both as potential drivers of long-term growth.
