Regulated utility Dominion Energy last week received the green light from local officials to develop a 100MW/400MWh BESS in Fauquier County, Virginia. 

The Town of Ulster in New York has received a request from local officials of the neighbouring town of Hurley to temporarily suspend the permitting process of a 250MW/1,000MWh BESS project under development by independent power producer (IPP) Terra-Gen. 

The development of large-scale battery storage projects continues to face opposition from local communities in parts of New York, US.

The Board of Supervisors (BoS) of Orange County, California, has enacted an emergency moratorium on the approval of any new BESS facilities proposed for unincorporated areas of the county in order to protect the “health, safety and welfare” of its residents.
