Nearly 21GWh of grid-scale BESS came online globally last month, of which around a fifth was in Saudi Arabia while the majority was in China. 

Some 9.1GW/33.5GWh of large-scale BESS came online globally last month, with Saudi Arabia accounting for over one-third of the figure.

Around 4.9GW/14.6GWh of large-scale BESS came online in May, with a much more balanced regional breakdown than usual.

A total of 4.5GW/12.8GWh of large-scale BESS capacity when into operation around the world last month, with Asia and South America showing strong figures.
