The European Union parliament has voted on amendments to REPowerEU which will see its accelerated permitting for renewable projects expanded to include standalone energy storage.
Domestic and international battery manufacturers have been supported by the European Commission's European Battery Alliance to date, but the latest announcements aim to provide a framework to boost industrial competitiveness and accelerate the EU's energy transition.
