Battery energy storage projects have emerged as the dominant force in Australia’s energy investment landscape, accounting for 46% of the nation’s 64GW development pipeline, according to the Australian Energy Market Operator’s (AEMO) latest quarterly report.

According to the latest report by clean energy market research firm Mercom India, India achieved a cumulative energy storage capacity of 490MWh by the end of June 2025. 

The amount of large-scale battery energy storage systems completed in the US as of Q3 2023 already exceeds the whole of 2022, American Clean Power said.
