Danske Commodities will optimise a BESS project that developer-operator BeGreen has added to a solar PV plant in Denmark, which the trading house already operates for BeGreen. 

July was a busy month for large-scale battery storage activity in the UK, with Engie commissioning a system, Masdar and Fidra hitting financial close on projects, Eku Energy buying one, project consents for Aura Power and Starlight Energy, and more.

We heard from Danske Commodities’ principal originator Rimshah Javed at the Energy Storage Summit 2026, to discuss trends in BESS offtake, optimisation, FCAs in Germany and the Danish market. The latter has taken off in the past year.
