What differentiates Risen Energy from other technology providers in a competitive global market?

Risen Energy delivers integrated solutions for photovoltaic, inverter, energy storage, and smart energy management systems (EMS), offering tailored PV and energy storage system (ESS) solutions for residential, commercial & industrial (C&I), and utility-scale applications.

Our end-to-end supply chain addresses critical industry challenges—high procurement costs, operational complexity, and limited after-sales support—by providing cost-competitive products, streamlined maintenance, and guaranteed service. This ecosystem empowers customers with seamless energy management and long-term value.

Which energy storage technologies does Risen Energy provide?

Risen Energy provides a range of advanced technologies for the energy storage market. In terms of energy storage system integration, our unique 4S solution is central, combining the battery management system (BMS), energy management system (EMS), power conversion system (PCS), and our proprietary Security Management System (SMS) into a seamless framework.

Our innovative SMS, through real-time monitoring and AI-powered prediction, establishes a multi-level safety architecture which can be represented as (BMS + EMS + PCS) × SMS.

This offers comprehensive protection from the cell level up to the entire system, ensuring energy storage projects’ safe and efficient operation.

Risen Energy also has technologies related to integration and modular design, thermal management (such as liquid cooling and multiple cooling modes in different products), and smart management and monitoring.

These technologies are integrated into our diverse product portfolio, including the Risen Stack and iCon series for C&I customers, and utility-scale solutions like eTron and eFlex, delivering reliable, efficient, and safe energy storage across all scenarios.

Key considerations for customer success in all segments

Which market segments is Risen focusing on, and what are the key considerations for success in each?

Risen serves all three core segments, residential, utility-scale and commercial and industrial (C&I) with solutions designed specifically to meet those key considerations you mention.

In the utility-scale segment, Risen prioritises high output, safety and system stability. Our 836kWh flexible liquid-cooling ESS, eFlex, is a breakthrough in cost efficiency, delivering high performance in a compact design. For larger projects, our 5MWh high-energy-density containerised solution, eTron, features five layers of safety protection.

In the C&I segment, we emphasise the modularity that customers demand with Risen Stack. Risen Stack is available with 48kWh to 120kWh scalable capacity, intelligent controls based on a Gurap inverter with 24/7 monitoring and three cooling modes for maximum thermal efficiency.

Residential customers look for plug-and-play ease, which Risen can provide with our system’s Luvit microinverter. Customers also look for smart management, which we enable through Risen Cloud’s AI optimisation. Our residential solutions are also capable of resilient operation through an extreme temperature range from -45°C to 65°C.

Risen is a well-known company in the solar PV industry. Will the company apply any important synergies or lessons from this market to energy storage?

Risen Energy has a 39-year history in renewable energy. From photovoltaic (PV) modules to energy storage systems (ESS), Risen Energy has always maintained investment in technological research and innovation.

The technological research and development experience accumulated in the photovoltaic market, such as the leading edge in Heterojunction Technology (HJT) solar cell technology, is helpful for its technological innovation in the energy storage field.

For example, the research and development of battery technology for energy storage products may benefit from material and process innovations experienced in photovoltaic cells.

In terms of supply chain management, the experience of building an integrated supply system in the solar PV business can be applied to energy storage to create an integrated supply chain, reducing costs and improving efficiency, and providing customers with better products and services.

Risen Energy’s market channels and customer resources in the global photovoltaic market can facilitate the promotion of energy storage products.

Safety and reliability are the top priorities

What are customers really looking for, and how can Risen help them achieve their goals?

For customers, safety and profitability remain the top priorities.

Risen Energy’s battery energy storage system, with its leading technical strength and global market compatibility in the industry, has become the first from China to pass the authoritative UL9540A certification in both China and the US, ensuring safety. It has also continuously been listed on the BNEF Tier-1 global top energy storage manufacturer list.

Regarding profitability, here’s a good example: Risen Energy deployed 14 iCon 100kW/215kWh commercial and industrial liquid-cooled energy storage integrated units for Inm, a leading Chinese food manufacturer.

The project leverages peak shaving and valley filling to reduce electricity costs, projected to deliver CNY10 million (US$1.39 million) in cost savings over ten years. By offering customised solutions, diversified PV+ESS offerings, and an end-to-end supply chain, Risen Energy ensures product competitiveness, operational simplicity, and after-sales assurance—ultimately helping customers achieve both safety and profitability.

How are energy storage technologies evolving in line with market demand, and what are the most exciting trends?

From closer integration with generation to smarter EV charging hardware, there are many exciting tech trends to follow, Terry Wu says. Image: Risen Energy

First, increased integration and intelligence are key trends in technological innovation. Energy storage systems are more closely and intelligently integrated with renewable energy sources, such as solar PV and wind power, and of course, the power grid.

Through smart energy management platforms, multi-energy coordination and optimisation are achieved, improving energy utilisation efficiency and system stability. At the same time, energy storage systems themselves are also becoming more intelligent, with functions such as intelligent monitoring, diagnosis, and optimised control, reducing operation and maintenance costs and improving reliability.

Secondly, energy storage applications are diversifying. Beyond traditional use cases like grid peak shaving and ancillary services, energy storage is increasingly deployed in distributed energy systems, microgrids, EV charging infrastructure (including bidirectional Vehicle-to-X applications), and smart buildings.

This expansion unlocks new growth opportunities for the market.

What are some of the challenges or barriers to success in energy storage markets worldwide, and how can they be overcome?

Policies and certifications vary by country. So Risen Energy will prioritise entering advantageous markets first and then penetrating others.
