GoodWe has showcased its new energy storage system at a launch event during the Solar Solutions exhibition in Amsterdam, emphasizing silent and smart operation supported by advanced safety features and simple installation. The residential ESA-Series All-in-One solution, planned to be available Europe-wide in March, combines a high-performance inverter with storage modules and an intelligent energy management system, offering full control for residential energy needs. It is the world’s first storage system to be awarded Grade A Low-Noise Certification.

With sound a major concern for the integration of technology in the residential space, ESA manages to run at an operating noise as low as 30dB*. The low sound profile of the unit is enabled by custom low-noise fans, real-time adaptation to operating conditions and an ultra silent mode that can be activated by the user, the specifications earning the product the world’s first ‘Highest Grade Low-Noise Performance’ certification from TÜV Rheinland.

GoodWe regional director Max Zhou commented: “It does not matter how efficient and innovative a new technology is, if it is also inconvenient and noisy. With the ESA, GoodWe has managed to bring together both high-tech and user-centric design. We see a huge demand for smart energy that integrates seamlessly into people’s homes, and we are excited to support our partners and customers with this new product.”

Intelligent operation is built both into the device as well as the management software, the recently introduced SEMS+ app. The Smart Energy Management System combines functionalities for product management, comprehensive generation and consumption data visuals, with optional AI supported operation. It helps customers to get the most out of their electricity contracts in combination with local generation, storage and connected loads. The app also fully supports smart power import and export management when combined with GoodWe’s residential EZManager3000 AI solution.

With interconnection and smart operation of the power system a cornerstone of GoodWe’s strategy, the EZManager3000 acts as a central hub that integrates over 13 device categories. Spanning both the GoodWe ecosystem and compatible third-party equipment, the SEMS+ app provides clear and intuitive visibility into connected assets.

The three-phase ESA-Series is available with different power levels from 5 kW to 30 kW, featuring up to four MPPT’s and three to six strings for PV input, depending on the system. The inverter unit can be combined with up to 12 battery modules for up to 108 kWh energy storage capacity, with the battery modules able to be combined and expanded freely and  available with 5 or 8 kWh capacity at 1C charging/discharging as well as 6 or 9 kWh capacity at 0.5C charging/discharging.

Up to six ESA three-phase systems can operate in parallel on- and off-grid, making it well suited for both residential and small C&I applications.

David Wijnandts, Key Account Manager for Benelux, explained: “Our installer partners are increasingly asking for systems that are easier to install and manage and the ESA series was designed with exactly these needs in mind. With a robust exterior, removable handles and reasonable weight, the system stacks as easy as Legos.”

Support for 21A per string PV input and up to 200% PV oversizing means the system can be combined with the newest high-power modules, capturing more solar energy for modern households. At 200% PV input, the integrated system enables 100% battery charging and 100% AC output at the same time for maximized self-consumption.

The ESA-Series supports full backup operation with a switching time below 4ms for seamless electricity during a grid-outage. Models with up to 20 kW offer 63 A bypass current for backup loads, the higher power models with 25 to 30 kW offering up to 80 A, enough to meet the demand of most homes.
