JA Solar has announced the grid connection of a 5MW/10MWh C&I energy storage power plant located at its Yangzhou manufacturing base. The project is fully operational and marks a significant milestone in the company’s energy storage initiatives.
The plant utilizes the BlueGalaxy 1500V liquid-cooled energy storage system developed independently by JA Solar, comprising three energy storage units and one centralized control unit connected to the grid via a 10kV interface. Each battery system has a capacity of 3.354MWh, with a rated power of 1725kW. The system is equipped with an advanced battery management system (BMS) that monitors operating parameters to enhance efficiency, with an optimized liquid-cooled management system maintaining the temperature difference between battery cells at less than 3°C, ensuring the battery operates in a moderate environment for an extended period. The battery pack system, with an IP67 protection rating, includes module-level testing to further safeguard performance.
“This successful grid connection marks a significant milestone for JA Solar,” commented Executive President Aiqing Yang. “Energy storage is not just a new venture for us; it’s crucial for balancing renewable energy, ensuring grid stability, and reaching our carbon neutrality goals. As JA Solar’s energy storage products enter the global market, we are determined to lead the charge toward a greener future, empowering the world with our innovative PV and storage solutions.”
