Gotion High Tech has continued its push into Japan’s battery storage market, forming a partnership with investor Daiwa and renewable energy engineering and O&M firm CO2OS.
Australian integrated energy company Origin Energy Limited has issued a call for suitably qualified firms to supply and install a four-hour duration battery energy storage system with up to 700MW rated output, at one of the company’s coal power plants.
Once again, lithium-ion battery-based solutions have been selected for projects that will “improve overall reliability” of electricity supplies, to enhance the grid and make it more efficient, while also providing backup in case of outages.
