The EU is ‘stepping up its game on battery gigafactories’, European Commission executive VP Maroš Šefčovič said at the Giga Europe conference today (12 March).

Verkor, a company building a lithium-ion gigafactory in France, and system integrator Nidec ASI will together produce up to 10GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) to 2030.

Digital software company Capgemini is partnering with battery energy storage startup Verkor to help bring to life a 16GWh-capacity lithium-ion cell factory in France.
