Finnish utility Helen is launching a 40MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Nurmijärvi, southern Finland, for 2025 commercial operation.

Siemens Energy will provide the technology for a project in Ireland combining a synchronous condenser and a battery energy storage system (BESS) of 160MWh.

Construction has begun on the first of four battery energy storage systems (BESS) totalling 200MW/200MWh from global system integrator Fluence in Lithuania.
