Legislation could soon be introduced in the US state of Illinois that aims to promote energy storage on the grid.

The Senate of Chile has unanimously passed major legislation which will incentivise the deployment of energy storage and electric vehicle (EV) technology.

Connecticut’s Senate has passed a bill targeting the deployment of 1,000MW of energy storage by the end of 2030, which when signed into law by the state’s governor will make it the eighth state jurisdiction in the US so far to introduce either a target or mandate for energy storage.

The US state of California’s Senate has approved a bill that would provide rebates to customers for the purchase of energy storage systems, bringing the legislation a step closer to introduction.
