Nostromo Energy is seeking an equity capital raise as part of getting a US$189 million loan guarantee from the US Department of Energy to roll out its cold energy storage solution.
It’s been a positive week for thermal energy storage technology, with utility Edison International validating a cold storage solution, a collaboration between two groups to achieve 100% round trip efficiency, and an acquisition involving several intellectual property rights patents.
More than a tenth of a 250MW energy storage procurement by utility Southern California Edison will comprise of Ice Energy’s Ice Bear units, deployed in partnership with NRG Energy.
