The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has confirmed that 244 community battery energy storage systems (BESS) are now connected to the country’s distribution networks.

The Australian government has expanded the nationwide Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which has seen rapid uptake from homeowners.

Australia’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program processes 8,000 applications per week, according to Carl Binning of the Clean Energy Regulator.
