Engineering consultancy Sweco has been contracted to design one of Europe’s largest battery energy storage systems with a storage capacity of 2,800MWh in Belgium.
The EStor-Lux battery site in south Belgium fully launched commercial activity in December and has successfully participated in grid frequency auctions.
Next Kraftwerke, offering ‘Virtual Power Plants-as-a-service’, will integrate a 2MW/2MWh battery at the premises of a commercial customer which will be integrated to offer both front-of-meter and behind-the-meter benefits.
