A few weeks ago, a battery recycling deal was announced for a 640MWh BESS project in Australia, but the project isn’t even built yet and the cells have 25-year warranties – we caught up with the company recycling the batteries to hear more.
Speaking with Energy-Storage.news, North American lithium-ion battery recycling specialist Li-Cycle said that battery recycling will help the US become less reliant on foreign imports and “help bolster energy independence and national security.”
As well as Elon Musk remarking that the company may have had its “best ever quarter” for solar since the SolarCity takeover, Tesla’s energy storage deployments have enjoyed a ramp up, while a fellow exec hinted the stationary battery business is constrained by cell supply.
