JinkoSolar has announced that it is to supply 13 sets of its SunGiga series C&I energy storage system to a project for Huimei Textile Company in Yibin, Sichuan province. The delivery is due to be completed in August and will be the first grid-connected C&I BESS project in Yibin.
SunGiga is one of the industry’s best-selling C&I energy storage systems, designed for the mainstream market with a battery capacity ranging from 500kWh to 1MWh, available for 2-hour and 4-hour applications. The solution combines lithium-ion batteries, a power conversion system (PCS), a battery management system (BMS) and a fire suppression system (FSS), streamlining transportation, installation and O&M. SunGiga is pre-commissioned so that all parameters are set before leaving the manufacturing base, making installation and commissioning easier and faster.
Due to its uniquely designed liquid cooling pathway, SunGiga comes with the lowest battery temperature difference within 2 degrees Celsius, extending the lifetime of batteries and significantly improving charging and discharging efficiency by up to 94%. Compared with conventional liquid cooling technology, SunGiga’s flow monitoring sensors, automatic state of charge (SoC) calibration and automated coolant refilling significantly reduce energy consumption and O&M costs by 15%-20%.
SunGiga features a comprehensive safety design at cell, electrical and system levels. AI-assisted cell monitoring technology performs high-precision online computing of cell status and provides early-stage warnings to prevent thermal runaway. IP65 module design, strengthened isolation coating, flammable gas detection, a ventilation system and a water-based suppression system ensure safety.
JinkoSolar is one of few companies offering both PV modules and ESS solutions. The company’s combined solar-plus-storage solution, optimized for C&I markets, will ensure lower power pricing and energy security.
