US energy storage inverter manufacturer Dynapower has partnered with South Korea’s Samsung SDI to launch an integrated behind-the-meter energy storage system, featuring Dynapower’s Generation 2 MPS inverters and Samsung SDI’s E2 batteries.

The integrated solution seeks to reduce the costs for end users across commercial and industrial (C&I) segments for energy storage.

"We have worked alongside Samsung SDI for a number of years and are excited to take that collaborative effort to the next level with the introduction of an integrated energy storage solution,” said Adam Knudsen, president of Dynapower.

“As the energy storage industry has rapidly evolved we have seen a clear demand from the market for engineered solutions that are flexible and proven. This is a solution customers can rely upon.”

“Together, Dynapower and Samsung SDI are well positioned to help expand market opportunities for our behind-the-meter storage customers by providing fully integrated engineering solutions,” also commented Fabrice Hudry, vice president of Energy Storage Solutions at Samsung SDI.

“Samsung SDI is the world leader in li-ion battery technology, and specifically for stationary energy storage application[s], and it is only fitting that we integrate our batteries with Dynapower’s leading inverter technology.”

The initial launch will be a 250kW system to be followed with a 100kW system in future. The first deployment will be for the University of Minnesota, with plans in the pipeline for deployment across the US next year.
